Katie Holmes Stepped Out in All Oversized Everything

Katie Holmes, queen of the intentionally baggy look, has hit the streets of New York City in another artfully oversized ensemble.

The actor kept it casual with no makeup and freshly-washed hair (the “Zendaya in Challengers look” ?), pairing a white cotton T-shirt with classic blue jeans and a loose pink button-down styled in a half-tuck. The Broadway star, currently appearing in Our Town, accessorized with tortoiseshell sunglasses, red velvet slippers and a Khaite bag. The same brand that made the cashmere bra and sweater combo that briefly set the fashion world on fire.

It’s a noticeably lighter look than the layers she’s been wearing lately. In early October, Holmes welcomed the start of fall in a thick peacoat, then paired houndstooth with a sweatshirt for extra warmth. It was a big knit cardigan one day, baggy coats with Suri the next. But when the sun comes out, the wool comes off. One thing we haven’t seen her wear in a minute? Her Taylor Swift Eras Tour shirt. The tour is almost wrapped, it’s about to become a statement piece.

It all reflects Holmes’ organic approach to style. “I enjoy [fashion]. I mean, I enjoy the craftsmanship. I enjoy putting things together. And I work with [stylist] Brie Welch, and she’s very detail oriented, and that inspires me. I think it is very creative. I love vintage shopping. I love the art of design,” she told Glamour in 2023. She also said, “People say, ‘Oh, do you think about what you wear before you go to the grocery store?’ No, because it’s not my job. You know what I mean?” but we think she should give herself a little more credit. Clearly, Katie Holmes knows how to put an outfit together, even if she doesn’t like to think too hard about it!
